You have all heard the history of Barack Obama. But if you want a refresher, here it is.
On August 4, 1961, Barack Obama was born in the Hawaii to Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr.
Obama’s parents both came from small communities. Ann Dunham spent her early years in small town Kansas where her dad worked oil rigs before WW II. Barack Obama Sr. grew up in a small Kenyan village where he herded goats as a child. His father was a domestic servant for the British.
Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr. met at the University of Hawaii where they were both students. Barack Obama Sr had won a scholarship which had brought him from his native Kenya to the University of Hawaii to fulfill his dreams.
Obama history indicates that after growing up in Hawaii and Indonesia, Barack Jr graduated from Columbia University in New York. He went on to Chicago to become a community organizer for a church supported group.
Next he earned his law degree from Harvard where he was distinguished as the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review.
After a stint as a law professor at the University of Chicago, Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate and served for 8 years. In 2004, he was elected to the US Senate.
He lived with his wife Michelle and two daughters Malia and Sasha on Chicago’s South Side until assuming the Presidency of the United States in January 2009.

The Barack Costume and Prosperity
It is high time to celebrate October Irish Druid prosperity with a Halloween costume with a message. Start with a Barack costume mask and a shirt with a real statement to keep things lively at your celebration.
Historians believe that Halloween originated in Ireland. Known as "Samhain Night", the festival is said to have celebrated the end of harvesting and the beginning of the winter season.
Hoping the Druid Gods would keep them safe through the winter, the Irish believers spent the evening of October 31 dressed in costuming as they celebrated around bonfires. They paid homage to the Druid gods for safety.
Now days in Ireland, children and adults alike dress up as creatures from the underworld as a reminder of the earlier homages. Costumes range from goblins, witches, zombies, ghouls, and gohsts. The revelers light bonfires and enjoy elaborate fireworks, even in places that fireworks are prohibited.
As is typical of trick or treating, children walk door to door, knocking on doors of neighbors to collect sweets, fruits and nuts for the Halloween festival. As a carryover from the historic times, neighbors would sprinkle salt on the hair of children to protect them from evil spirits. A blend of the old and new traditions.
In addition, the Irish decorate their homes to celebrate Halloween. Homes are decorated with carved pumpkins or turnips with scary faces. Traditionally, a candle is set inside the hollowed out gourd to provide a backlight to the scarry face.
Fruit bread is a traditional Halloween cake. Called a barmbrack (no relation), a piece of treasure, a coin or a ring is placed in each cake. Also, the opposite, a piece of rag, may be placed in the cake. Each person gets a slice and hopes to be lucky to look forward to a prosperous year after receiving a coin. The rag signifies financial doom. The ring signifies a sign of impending romance or continuing happiness.
Create your own significant Halloween message with a Barack Obama message t-shirt and mask. Party in a Barack Costume and ring in a prosperous winter season.

Where do Halloween costumes come from? (And I don’t mean from the costume shop.)
Many people think that the Halloween holiday is a "devil worshipping" time celebrated by individuals who do not believe in God. However the truth is that Halloween has basic origins in the Catholic Church. The literal meaning of Halloween is "All Saints Eve" or "All Hallows Eve".
All Saints Day is a holiday observed by the Catholic Church for the worship of all the saints in heaven. Early on, the church considered it a solemn, significant religious observance.
In the USA, the origin of Halloween goes further back to the Celtic celebration of Samhain, which is a Druidic festival to celebrate the completion of the harvest. As is typical of Celtic lore, faeries were thought to be extremely active at this time of year as they ushered in the winter season after harvest.
Celts celebrated that on the night before Halloween, before the "new year", the line between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of Halloween, October 31, they celebrate Samhain. On this day, Halloween, the Celts believe the ghosts of the dead returned to Earth, causing trouble and damaging the crops.
In addition, Celts sensed the presence of other worldly spirits that made it easier for the Druids (Celtic priests) to predict the future. These people at this time in history were entirely dependent on their natural world, which was a volatile world. So the predictions, the prophecies, were a welcome source of comfort during the long, darkened winter.
All Saints Eve Costumes
During the October celebration, the Celts wore costumes. The costumes were typically animal heads and skins. At this time, Celts tried to tell each other’s fortunes. Next, they would build large religious bonfires where believers burned crops and animals as sacrifices to the Celtic dieties.
After the celebration, the people restarted the fires in their hearths which they had extinguished before the celebration. The fires would be restarted with flame or embers from the sacred bonfire. The significance was to provide protection during the coming winter.
